Daniel Craig is back (complete with that Foghorn Leghorn accent with a highbrow twist) as southern detective Benoit Blanc in the first teaser trailer for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

It’s the sequel to writer / director Rian Johnson‘s 2019 original smash hit Knives Out. Set on a private island near Greece owned by a tech billionaire played by Edward Norton, Glass Onion derives its title from the island’s lavish mansion (see in image gallery below).

Norton joins a new all-star cast for this sequel murder mystery, which also includes Janelle Monae, Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr., Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista, Jessica Henwick and Madelyn Cline.

Also new: the distributor and platform. The original Knives Out was produced by Lionsgate and released exclusively in theaters. Now, Glass Onion is the first of two Knives Out sequels being produced by Netflix, following a $450 million deal that Rian Johnson struck with the streamer to continue the franchise.

Craig’s Blanc will untangle this latest web on Netflix starting December 23, 2022. While not confirmed, the streamer is strongly considering a 45-day theatrical run prior to the streaming release, slating a possible multiplex debut for November 9.
