Wow. That Ray Kroc was a real piece of work.
From The Weinstein Company and director John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, Saving Mr. Banks) comes The Founder. It tells the darkly comic story (emphasis on dark) of how milkshake machine salesman Ray Kroc – played by Michael Keaton, an actor on a hot streak – took the small fast-food concept of the McDonald brothers and franchised it. The biopic’s first trailer has just been released (see below).
The film co-stars Nick Offerman, Linda Cardellini, Laura Dern, and B.J. Novak, with a script by Robert Siegel (who wrote Darren Aronofsky‘s The Wrestler).
Moved up from its November release, The Founder will now open this summer on August 5, 2016 (up against, ironically, the brief return of Batman to the screen in Warner Bros. Suicide Squad).
