Michael Keaton’s Batman Returns Into The DC Multiverse In New FLASH Trailer (VIDEO/POSTERS)

Ezra Miller may star in the title role, but Michael Keaton’s Batman is the main attraction in the new trailer for THE FLASH. It opens June 2023.

This is exactly what DC fans have been waiting for…and yet the new trailer for The Flash is still more of a tease for than it is a full-on reveal.

It’s been nearly a year-and-a-half since the first trailer for The Flash dropped in October 2021. Since then, the film’s release date of November 2022 was postponed to June 2023. In the process, the marketing campaign was postponed as well.

But just as Super Bowl LVII was about to kick off, the Flash hype train struck back into high gear with the debut of a brand new trailer (see above).

It confirms what new, recently-released posters (see gallery below) emphasized: Michael Keaton‘s Batman is not only back, but he looms large in a movie that doesn’t even carry his name in the title.

Nevertheless, the trailer is very much Flash-and-Barry Allen driven, keeping Ezra Miller‘s red-suited speedster front-and-center. While we don’t learn exactly how he rips open DC’s multiverse, we learn why he settles on stopping in the Batman-verse where Keaton’s Bruce Wayne lives: it’s there where Barry’s mother is still alive.

Joining Keaton’s Batman in this multiverse adventure is Ben Affleck‘s (his Batman still a part of the Snyderverse) along with the introduction of Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle.

Michael Shannon‘s General Zod also makes an appearance, the arch villain who is very much alive in another universe where Superman didn’t kill him.

Directed by Andy Muschietti (the IT films), The Flash bolts into movie theaters this summer on June 16, 2023.
