It’s all about family. Again.
In the first of two final films to the Fast & Furious Saga, Fast X sees Vin Diesel‘s Dominic Toretto face off against Jason Momoa‘s Dante. As this trailer reveals (above), Dante is a tie-in to the events of Fast Five (so put that on your Fast X prep list), and he is back for vengeance in a battle of families.
Indeed, everyone is back (except Dwayne Johnson‘s Hobbs, of course, whose absence is linked to his public feud with Diesel), and joining them is new addition Rita Moreno as Dom’s grandmother. She’s the latest Oscar-winner to grace the Fast Saga ensemble which also includes Helen Mirren, Brie Larson, and Charlize Theron as the villain Cipher who, in the trailer’s final tease, has a mono-y-mono showdown with Michelle Rodriguez‘s Letty.
In short, this latest and penultimate Fast chapter looks to deliver exactly what the franchise’s legion of fans have come to expect, and want: machismo and muscle cars on testosterone overload, with heart.
Directed by Louis Leterrier (Now You See Me, the Transporter series), Fast X throttles into theaters this summer on May 19, 2023.
