Chicago Critics Name BANSHEES Best Picture; EVERYWHERE Tops With 6 Wins (AWARDS 2022)

The Chicago Film Critics Association honored THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN and EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE as the best films of 2022.

The Banshees of Inisherin and Everything Everywhere All At Once continue to solidify themselves as the 2022 Awards Season frontrunners.

The two indie stalwarts won top honors at the 2022 Chicago Film Critics Association awards. Banshees took the top prize for Best Picture and nabbed 4 total; Everything Everywhere won 6 awards including Best Director for The Daniels team of Dan Kwan & Daniel Scheinert.

Familiar 2022 critics favorites also showed up in the acting categories: Best Actress Cate Blanchett (TÁR), Best Actor Colin Farrell (Banshees), Supporting Actress Kerry Condon (Banshees) and Supporting Actor Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere).

Banshees also won Best Original Screenplay for writer / director Martin McDonagh, and Everything Everywhere hauled three tech prizes: Best Editing, Costume Design, and Art Direction.

Winners were announced on December 14, 2022.

Best Art Direction: Everything Everywhere All At Once, Jason Kisvarday & Amelia Brooke

Best  Original Score:  Babylon, Justin Hurwitz

Best Use of Visual Effects: Everything Everywhere All at Once

Most Promising Performer: Austin Butler, Elvis

Milos Stehlik Award for Breakthrough Filmmaker: Charlotte Wells, Aftersun
