It’s not much, but it’s enough.
In this first teaser for Black Adam, which debuted at the online fan event DC Fandome, none of the plot details are divulged. Simply, the preview is a scene early in the movie when Black Adam (played by Dwayne Johnson) is first revealed.
The only other description of the story and its title character that we have (which is a new anti-hero spinoff of the Shazam! universe) is this statement tweeted out by Johnson:
- He is ruthless. He is unstoppable. He is the reason the hierarchy of power in the DC UNIVERSE is about to change.
The comic book action-adventure co-stars Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Collectively, they comprise the organization known as the Justice Society.
Black Adam, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows), debuts in theaters this fall on October 21, 2022 (delayed from its initial release date of July 29).
