First CHERRY Trailer From AVENGERS Director-Duo The Russo Brothers (VIDEO/IMAGES)

Starring Tom Holland, CHERRY opens in theaters in late February, then on Apple TV+ mid-March.

It’s the first post-Avengers: Endgame movie for The Russo Brothers, and the trailer for it is…about what I’d expect: a movie trying too hard — narratively, thematically, stylistically — to be important and gritty.

Starring Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, Cherry is the story of an Iraq War vet who resorts to bank-robbing to fund his drug addiction cuz, you know, PTSD. It comes complete with Fourth-Wall-Breaking commentary from Holland’s title character, the kind that explains his actions and psychology with snarky style (natch).

Cherry debuts in select theaters on February 26, 2021 to make its late-entry Oscar Season play. The hard-R movie (with all the violence and the swears and the drugs and the sex) launches worldwide two weeks later on streamer Apple TV+ March 12.
