These ladies are locked and loaded.
A couple of years ago at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, actress Jessica Chastain put on her producing boots and recruited some of the world’s top female talents to join her for an all-women led action movie.
The international stars joining here were Oscar-winners Lupita Nyong’o, Penélope Cruz, and Marion Cotillard, with Asian actress Bingbing Fan rounding out the ensemble. Since then, Cotillard had to bail so German star Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds) replaced her.
Now, the first trailer for that project has been unleashed. The 355 tracks a team of female agents from around the world who fight global terrorism in the digital age. It’s as slick as you’d expect with the kind of kickass quintet you’d hope for (even if the plot looks as derivative as you might fear).
These ladies aren’t scared of anything, including COVID-19. Directed by X-Men franchise producer Simon Kinberg and co-starring Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramirez, The 355 is set to open in movie theaters on January 15, 2021.
