There’s a bit of irony in the title of the new TV Spot for Disney’s upcoming Mulan, an action-packed 60-seconds that is anything but “Tranquil” (that’s what the studio labeled the spot).
It’s the first promo to reveal the film’s PG-13 rating, and that’s a first for any of Disney’s animated-to-live action reboot adaptations; all previous ones have been rated PG.
The official warning attached the rating is simply ” for sequences of violence.” Given that, it’s likely that the new non-musical Mulan will be a soft-PG-13, where spikes of violence are slightly more graphic or frightening than what you might expect in an otherwise family-friendly epic.
