Previous trailers and featurettes have given us a good look at A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (a.k.a. the Mr. Rogers movie inspired by the true story of a reporter’s relationship with the beloved PBS icon), but this latest — and likely last — trailer produced for international audiences offers the most concise version of the premise yet.
Other trailers haven’t been coy, mind you, but this one — with the marketing directness of a TV commercial — gets right to the point of the who, what, and why of it all.
Tom Hanks stars as Fred Rogers with Matthew Rhys (FX’s The Americans) as the reporter; it’s from director Marielle Heller of last year’s Oscar-nominated Can You Ever Forgive Me?.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood opens on November 22, 2019.
