Happy Birthday, Mr. Rogers.
To celebrate what would’ve been Fred Rogers’ 91st birthday on March 20, the makers of A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood — the upcoming film starring Tom Hanks as the beloved PBS children’s show host — released a new image from the film, with Hanks striking the iconic “shoe change toss” pose.
Previous images have also been released, which you can see below.
Currently in production, A Beautiful Day is about the special relationship that forms between Rogers and the cynical, jaded journalist Tom Junod (fictionalized here as Lloyd Vogel, played by Matthew Rhys, star of FX’s The Americans). It’s directed by Marielle Heller, whose Can You Ever Forgive Me? was a recent 3-time Academy Award nominee.
A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood — also co-starring Academy Award winner Chris Cooper — opens nationwide this Thanksgiving, on November 22, 2018.
