In the warm-fuzzy wake of Paddington 2 and Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, Disney’s live-action Winnie the Pooh movie called Christopher Robin looks to be another feel-good film to lift our spirits in these divisive times.
Ewan McGregor stars as a grown-up Christopher who reconnects with his stuffed animal friends from the 100 Acre Wood. Directed by Marc Forster (Finding Neverland), this take on the Pooh property promises to be much more uplifting than last year’s overwrought, semi-depressing non-Disney A.A. Milne biopic Goodbye Christopher Robin.
That much is abundantly, joyfully clear in these two new promotional videos — a sneak peek trailer and behind-the-scenes featurette — as well as new film photos (gallery below).
Co-starring Hayley Atwell and the voices of Jim Cummings, Chris O’Dowd, Brad Garrett, Toby Jones, Peter Capaldi, and Sophie Okonedo, Disney’s Christopher Robin opens on August 3, 2018.
