Marvel fans are going to be geeked, there’s no question about it. Even fair weather fans may be excited to, er, toke up to Thor: Ragnarok, if this latest trailer is any indication.

In style, tone, and humor, the third Thor feature goes full on Guardians in an unabashed act of internal Marvel appropriation (I mean, just look at that poster below; I rest my case).

Personally, despite admiring the gonzo spirit, this kind of big budget B movie overkill is what I like least about the MCU. It’s gaudy and cheesy, not cool, and Ragnarok appears to be exactly that on crystal meth.

But hey, there’s Jeff Goldblum and Cate Blanchett (ugh, that thing on her head), which should make up for a lot, plus it’ll be interesting what a director like Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What We Do in the Shadows) will do in the Marvel universe.
