Fans of Stephen King‘s The Dark Tower have waited (I’m)patiently through numerous announced and failed permutations of adaptations (including an exapnsive multi-platform Movie/TV narrative by Ron Howard). When this single feature finally became a thing, its production schedule was shrouded in mystery, as was its release date. When it was finally announced that it would arrive in Summer 2017, it was only a matter of time before the first trailer arrived. And here it is. Starring Idris Elba as gunslinger Roland Deschain (such a King character name), Matthew McConaughey as The Man In Black, and newcomer Tom Taylor as the boy Jake Chambers, The Dark Tower opens everywhere on August 4, 2017.
