It’s a video you can’t refuse.
In celebration of the 45th Anniversary of The Godfather, the Tribeca Film Festival scored a coup and corralled the stars of Parts I and II: Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, Robert Duvall, James Caan, Talia Shire, and director Francis Ford Coppola.
The actual panel discussion begins at around the 13:00 mark in the video.
Hosted by filmmaker Taylor Hackford (De Niro’s recent director for The Comedian), offer a lot of candid insights, like Pacino and Keaton confessing how they once got drunk together while filming the first movie, and that they began to share with each other their worries that this would be “the worst film ever made.”
This wide-ranging 80-minute conversation is sure to please cinephiles in general and Godfather fans especially, even if it would’ve seemed more fitting to wait five years for the 50th Anniversary. But since there’s no guarantees this group could all still be around then (God willing, they are), it was great of TFF to make this special event a reality.
