Universal’s Monsterverse is coming, and the latest trailer for The Mummy – the first entry in this prospective franchise – shows that the studio isn’t going to chinse on bringing as many scares as they can in what will still likely be a PG-13 affair.
Tom Cruise headlines, bringing his thrill-seeking style to a reportedly spectacular Zero G stunt sequence, and Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders) co-stars. Star Trek Beyond‘s Sofia Boute is the title Mummy back from the dead, ready to wreak havoc, while Russell Crowe plays none other than Dr. Jekyll; whether he goes full Mr. Hyde in this movie or an upcoming installment remains unknown. Jurassic World and New Girl actor Jake Johnson also co-stars for likely comic relief.
The Mummy awakens in theaters on June 9, 2017.
