For the first time ever, this year’s Critics Choice Awards – given by the Broadcast Film Critics Association – were presented over a month earlier than the traditional mid-January date. This makes it the first Awards Show of the 2016 season, with the ceremony happening the night before the Golden Globes announce their nominees.

Too bad the Oscars couldn’t have those same categories…
I like that the Oscars don’t ghettoize movies to that degree…although, since comedies and action movies never get taken seriously during awards time, it would be a way to boost ratings. Er, and the show’s run time. Would probably be 5 hours.
