Adonis Faces His Past In First CREED III Trailer (VIDEO/POSTERS)

Michael B. Jordan makes his directorial debut in CREED III, in which he also returns as boxer Adonis Creed. It opens in theaters March 2023.

In Creed III, Michael B. Jordan takes center ring.

With the third spinoff sequel to the Rocky series, Michael B. Jordan not only takes on the title role once again of boxer Adonis Creed (the son of Apollo Creed), but he makes his directorial debut as well.

From a story and script by original Creed director Ryan Coogler and his brother Keenan Coogler, Creed III pits Adonis against an unexpected foe: a former friend from his childhood past. But now that friend Damien Anderson — played by an absolutely ripped Jonathan Majors (Kang of the MCU) — turns foe as he goes after Adonis, not only in the boxing ring but, it seems, in life itself.

Franchise regulars Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad return for this third outing and are joined again by Florian Munteanu (Viktor Drago, from Creed II) and Wood Harris, who reprises his role as trainer Tony “Little Duke” Evers.

Slated for an early spring knockout, Creed III opens in theaters on March 3, 2023.
