Keanu is Batman. Whoa.
That may be the most appealing tease yet for DC League of Super-Pets, the animated comedy adventure coming soon from Warner Bros. Focusing on the pets of the Justice League, it follows the Superfriends and their super canine sidekicks.
The voice cast is led by Krypto Dog (Dwayne Johnson) and Superman (John Krasinski), who fight crime side-by-side in Metropolis, plus another superhound Ace (Kevin Hart) who teams up with Batman (Keanu Reeves).
In the film, Krypto must rise to his potential by leading a rescue mission to save a kidnapped Superman.
Other voice cast members include Vanessa Bayer as PB (Wonder Woman’s pet pig), Natasha Lyonne as Merton (The Flash’s pet turtle), and Diego Luna as Chip (Green Lantern’s pet squirrel). Kate McKinnon, Jameela Jamil, Ben Schwartz, Thomas Middleditch co-star in yet-to-be announced roles, plus Dascha Polanco as a female Green Lantern and Marc Maron as Lex Luthor.
Directed by Jared Stern (co-writer of The Lego Batman Movie), DC League of Super-Pets opens in theaters this summer on July 29, 2022 (delayed from its original release date of May 20).
