¡Vibrante! ¡Vivo!
If one thing is abundantly clear in the latest trailer for Encanto (along with the teaser before it), it’s that Disney’s latest animated feature is vibrant and full of life. It’s the first from the Mouse House to dive deep into Hispanic culture — specifically here by way of Colombia.
Encanto is the story of Mirabel, the one normal person in a family that has otherwise been blessed with magical powers. Now, as this new trailer reveals, the house that is the source of their powers is in danger and the family must unite to save it, with an unlikely Mirabel leading the fight and finding her place along the way.
Fueled by songs written in both Spanish and English from Broadway megastar Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Hamilton), this colorful extravaganza of Latin culture promises to be an eye-popping spectacle at every turn.
Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) stars as the voice of Mirabel, with a cast that also includes Wilmer Valderrama, Angie Cepeda, Diane Guerrero, Maria Cecelia Botero, and John Leguizamo.
Directed by the team of Jared Bush & Byron Howard (Zootopia) and Charise Castro Smith (who also co-wrote), Encanto hits theaters exclusively this Thanksgiving on November 24, 2021.
