Fan Edit Gives Us All The Jedi In RISE OF SKYWALKER Climax (VIDEO)

I’m a big fan of The Rise of Skywalker. Many gripes have been thrown its way, ones that often feel petty at best and, at worst, willfully ignorant so as to obnoxiously stan with these pathetic “Rian vs J.J.” tribal alliances.

That said, there were missed opportunities on behalf of director J.J. Abrams, ones I assume were actually debated and, ultimately, decided against rather than never considered.

The biggest one is probably the opportunity that a fan envisioned here: seeing the main fallen Jedi from the entire saga appear as Force Ghosts to backup Rey in her confrontation with Emperor Palpatine.

If you’ve seen the movie then you know the scene (and if you haven’t then, er, spoiler alert?). For me, it was a truly great moment, an extremely rewarding culmination in many ways.

But it could’ve been better, and YouTuber jon h shows us exactly how in the video above.

Here’s the bottom line: Film is a visual medium. Given that, when Rey says “I am all the Jedi”, visualizing her empowerment in this way would’ve made it even more powerful. In doing so, it makes the Skywalker Saga’s climactic moment even more satisfying.

(It also would’ve been nice to see Qui-Gon and Mace Windu here as well, but I’m guessing that jon h tried yet, alas,  there wasn’t the footage needed to visually match the Big 4 who are represented.)

Damn, this gave me chills. Watch it, and let the Force be with you.

  1. Nicely edited video. Props to whoever made this. I don’t think it would’ve been accurate to have Mace Windu and Qui-Gon as part of the Force ghost gang since Windu and the other deceased Jedi never actually learnt the ability while Qui-Gon never completed his training as revealed in Clone Wars (he can only manifest as a disembodied voice). Nevertheless, still wished this scene had made it into the final cut. Talk about wasted opportunity. Sigh…
