New TENET Trailer Promises Big Return To Big Screen (VIDEO/IMAGES)

It’s not time travel. It’s inversion.

To put it in practical terms, it’s like what John David Washington‘s agent is told: “You’re not shooting the bullet. You’re catching it.”

Whoa.

That’s about as close as I can come to describing what Tenet is about — and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The latest brain-bender from Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight, Dunkirk) should blow our minds or else he’s not doing his job. Suffice it to say, the new trailer for Tenet promises to deliver another bizarre blockbuster trip, messing with the dimensions and physics of the natural world (along with our minds) while its heroes try to avoid something worse than Armageddon.

Joining Washington are Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh, Himesh Patel, Martin Donovan, Dimple Kapadia, Clémence Poésy, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Michael Caine.

Given how long we’ve been deprived of a proper theatrical movie-going experience, I can’t imagine a better way to break back into that than with an epic thriller like this (shot on 70mm IMAX cameras, no less).

But here’s the rub: one of the mystery’s of this trailer is the film’s release date. More specifically, the July 17, 2020 premiere is conspicuously absent. The only tease is that this is “coming to theaters.” And that’s it.

Warner Bros. hasn’t officially moved Tenet from its July date, but it’s clear now that they’re hedging their bets as to if they will be able to stick to it.

Time will tell…
