Ferrell & McAdams Spoof Real-Life Song Contest In EUROVISION (VIDEO/IMAGES)

Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams are bringing Nordic Glam Rock to Netflix — and it’s real. Kind of.

Okay, it’s totally fake, but Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is based on an actual Scandinavian competition that takes place annually (you can check out their YouTube page here). With this year’s event cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Eurovision The Movie comes along at the perfect time.

Ferrell and McAdams star as Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, an aging glam rock/pop duo who’s ready to take Eurovision by storm and make their overdue dream come true.

Rather than a full trailer, the music video above is Lars and Sigrit performing, but you get the gist. The photo gallery below provides a broader sneak peak.

Directed by David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) and co-starring Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey), Pierce Brosnan, and Demi Lovato, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga opens this summer on June 26, 2020, exclusively on Netflix.
