YES! So says The Emperor (still just heard, not seen) in the new TV Spot titled “She” for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Of course he’s talking about Rey, and I am HERE FOR IT.

Her origin is vital, despite what Kylo Ren may have suggested regarding her parents in The Last Jedi. It’s not that Rey’s parents need to be of significance or that she needs to be a Skywalker (or anyone “important”), but her origin — Rey’s story — is vitally important. If it wasn’t, that would be beyond a letdown and actually not make sense in the most anti-climactic way. It’s a relief to officially here that her story will be told.
