New Places. New Faces. Next Level. That marketing copy pretty much sums up Jumanji: The Next Level, the sequel to the highly successful Welcome to the Jungle franchise reboot.
This final trailer showcases more of what the first one teased: an opportunity for Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black to have fun with broad character shtick in the midst of high octane family-friendly action, all set in the hyper-reality of being sucked into an old SEGA video game version of Jumanji.
This time, however, instead of returning as the game avatars of the same group of high school students, The Rock is infused by Danny DeVito and Hart by Danny Glover, as the older actors play grandparents for two of the teens, while Black takes on Ser’Darius Blain‘s Fridge (who Hart previously appropriated). Karen Gillan retains Morgan Turner‘s Martha while Madison Iseman‘s Bethany is played by…well, you’ll see.
Nick Jonas, Alex Wolff, and Rhys Darby return, along with director Jake Kasdan, plus Awkwafina joins the crew.
Jumanji: The Next Level gets a one-week jump on The Rise of Skywalker when it opens on December 13, 2019.
