First Trailer For The DOWNTON ABBEY Movie Is At Our Service (VIDEO/POSTER)

If there’s been anything even more anticpated by Anglophiles than the birth of the Harry/Meghan Sussex baby Archie, it’s this.

It’s been four years since Downton Abbey ended its wildly popular six-season run, and the affection for it hasn’t waned. Now, at long last, Abbey fans are about to get what has been long promised: a feature-length theatrical release in which all of their favorite characters return to that magical place in early 20th Century England.

In this first trailer, we see the upstairs and downstairs of House Crawley, glimpses of their life now (in 1927, about 18 months after the series finale), and the special guests they’re preparing to host.

Written by series creator Julian Fellowes (who wrote every single word of the entire series by himself) and directed by Michael Engler (a veteran of the series as well), Downton Abbey returns in theaters only this fall on September 20, 2019.
