My review of Hearts Beat Loud, for The Tulsa Voice, a film that “sifts the musical charms and depth of Once and Sing Street through a father-daughter filter.”

Parks & Rec‘s Nick Offerman stars as a single dad who creates a new, unexpected bond with his soon-to-be-in-med-school daughter when they start making music together. Through this collaboration, the duo confronts their “relationship gaps and deep-seated uncertainties,” and yet it’s “a film of unadulterated joy, the kind that rises as music taps into the soul and liberates it.”
