My review of The Seagull, for The Tulsa Voice. It’s a new adaptation of Russian writer Anton Chekhov’s ground-breaking play, starring a strong trio of female stars: Annette Bening, Saoirse Ronan, and Elizabeth Moss.

Tony-winning director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) brings a contemporary relevance to this classic work, resonating in today’s renewed focus on gender inequality while remaining “a faithful take on this seminal text of tragicomic cruelty.”

The Seagull is “a maelstrom of overlapping love triangles and unrequited affections in a story of individuals desperate to have the things (and people) that they can’t.”
