Well, sort of a first look, Kind of. But not really.

The new TV spot for The Grinch – Illumination Entertainment’s feature-length adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss story – didn’t seem to provide any footage from the actual film. Rather, it was tailor made for the program it bought ad time in: the Winter Olympics.

We don’t hear the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch, either, so we’ll have to wait to find out just how much his performance differs (or adheres to) the Boris Karloff standard.

The Grinch will be a major holiday player when it opens this November 8, 2018.
