George Clooney and the Coen brothers are making a film again, but this time the dashing leading man isn’t starring; he’s directing.
Taking a screenplay written by Joel and Ethan Coen, Clooney and his producing/writing partner Grant Heslov gave a rewrite to Suburbicon and are now filming the quirky crime comedy. Clooney will not appear in the film (or at least he’s not an official member of the cast).
Starring Matt Damon and Julianne Moore, it’s set in a typical quiet hometown U.S.A., circa 1950s and all the Americana that goes with it. The larger-than-life residents become rattled after a one family suffers a suspicious home invasion.

Co-starring Oscar Isaac and Noah Jupe, Suburbicon will premiere at this September’s Toronto International Film Festival. It opens on October 27, 2017.
