The Academy Award-winning writer/director team behind The Hurt Locker (and then Zero Dark Thirty) are back with a dramatization of the Civil Rights era riot that rocked Detroit in the summer of 1967.
Director Kathryn Bigelow (the only female to ever win the Best Director Oscar) and writer Mark Boal tackle intense subject matter yet again, but this time it’s stateside rather than on foreign soil.
The large ensemble includes John Boyega, Malcolm David Kelley, John Krasinski, Will Poulter, Kaitlyn Dever, Jacob Latimore, Anthony Mackie, Jason Mitchell, Hannah Murray, Ben O’Toole, and Jack Reynor.
Detroit opens on August 4, 2017.
