Okay, this Spider-Man is a teenager.
The first one sheet poster for Spider-Man: Homecoming has been unveiled (below), and it’s decidedly different from the previous action-centric posters of past Spider-Man movies, ones that also suggested a darker, edgier tone.
Not this one. Looking more like something straight out of an actual Spider-Man comic, the young webslinger (played by Tom Holland) is taking a break from school (while still sporting his gold “Midtown School of Science & Technology” jacket), kicked back, listening to some tunes, on a nice bright day in the city.
Like a teenager would.
UPDATE: So Marvel just dropped two additional posters (see below) to go along with the first, one more along the lines of what you’d expect up against a skyscraper (the Avengers HQ, no less), the other placing him squarely in the NYC boroughs, and both remain bright and sunny rather than desperately going for dark and edgy. Spidey movies need to be fun, just as much as Batman films work best when brooding.
Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7, 2017.
