A superhero that saves a dude in distress? Those bullet-deflecting cuffs sure do the trick. So does this whole new trailer for Wonder Woman, dubbed “Origin”, which shows a movie that’s very much of the current DCEU yet still balances action, seriousness, and comic relief in a confident rather than straining way. Will a female director (Patty Jenkins) finally get the DC brand right? We’ll know for sure when Wonder Woman – starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya, Lucy Davis, and Danny Huston – opens on June 9, 2017.
