In conjunction with the release of The LEGO BATMAN Movie, Warner Bros. Animation has dropped the first trailer for the third movie in the burgeoning Legoverse: The LEGO NINJAGO Movie, a samurai inspired tale with a plastic block spin, that will hit theaters this fall.
Complete with a send-up on Daddy/Son issues between hero and villain, it stars the voices of Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Jackie Chan, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, and Michael Peña. This marks the feature debut for director Charlie Bean, known in the animation world for his work on TV shows such as Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory.
The LEGO NINJAGO Movie opens on September 22, 2017. Here is the studio synopsis, as well as a gallery of images.
- In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret warriors and LEGO Master Builders. Led by kung fu master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power.
