Alicia Vikander: Reboot Raider.

The first images from the set of the Tomb Raider redux have hit the Twittersphere. Taking over for Angelina Jolie is 2015 It Girl and Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl, Ex Machina). She’s seen leaping, running, sweating, and more in a collection of images that prove she not only looks the part, but she’s clearly up to the physical demands as well.

This new take on the popular video game character is being steered by Norwegian director Roar Uthwaug, for Warner Bros., in his first English-language blockbuster. His previous notable achievement of scope is the Norwegian disaster thriller The Wave.

Walton Goggins co-stars as the villain Father Mathias Vogel, Daniel Wu is ship captain Lu Ren, and Dominic West plays Croft’s father.

Tomb Raider opens in a little over a year from now, on March 18, 2018.
