Tom Cruise keeps getting older, but he’s far from being buried as an action star.
His latest franchise resurrection is for The Mummy. While it appears more obviously reliant on digital effects than some of his mind-boggling stunt work in the Mission Impossible films, this looks like the kind of action adventure blockbuster that fans continue to want from the ageless thrill seeker.
Produced and directed by Alex Kurtzman (a former J.J. Abrams protégé), this co-stars Russell Crowe, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, and recent Emmy winner for American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson Courtney B. Vance.
The Mummy opens next summer on June 9, 2017.
