MAD MAX “Crash & Smash” Shows Off FURY ROAD’s Spectacular Practical Effects

Making them like they used to, and it’s glorious.

In the age of digitized everything, it’s refreshing to see a movie that so boldly stages real-life spectacle. Director George Miller did exactly that in Mad Max: Fury Road, as this behind-the-scenes 4-minute video “Crash & Smash” reveals.

Sure, Fury Road had its share of digital enhancements, particularly when it came to expanding the environment, but as you’ll see here the actual stunts, crashes, and peril were all explosively real.

  1. This movie is just such a blast to watch. Saw it last year at the local independent on the big screen (I can’t believe I missed it in theaters the first time around) and was blown away again. Best film of 2015 hands down!
