DOCTOR STRANGE Trailer #2 Reveals A Bold New Marvel World (VIDEO)

This is one movie that looks like it’ll live up to its name.

Anyone who’s read my reviews for Batman V Superman or Captain America: Civil War knows that I’m not a big Marvel guy. The brand is the most popular in the world right now, but is so (from my theater seat, anyway) on some rather bland blockbusting.

I don’t know if Doctor Strange will be good, but it won’t be boring.

In this latest trailer that debuted at Comic-Con, director Scott Derrickson‘s first foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe looks to turn the MCU upside down and inside out. More importantly, it appears to be entirely unbeholden to the (too) tightly constructed movie series, boasting a style and freedom unforeseen in the Marvel brand. That’s probably because, as Derrickson put it at Comic-Con, the origin story will open the Marvel Universe into the Marvel Multiverse.

This is really trippy stuff, with really good actors – Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, and Mads Mikkelsen among them.

Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4, 2016.
