The first official movie poster is here for Hacksaw Ridge, the directorial return for Academy Award winning (and polarizing) director Mel Gibson (Braveheart, Passion of the Christ). Along with it are some set photos – a few official, others not taken from afar. Also in the mix is a second poster for the Asian market. (You can read my review of the movie here.)
Set in World War II, Hacksaw Ridge is the true story of Desmond Doss (Andrew Garfield), the first conscientious objector to win the Congressional Medal of Honor for saving the lives of 75 men during the battle of Okinawa without using a weapon. Film blogger Peter T. Chattaway has some interesting thoughts (click here) on how this may be the faith-based war movie that fans of Unbroken were hoping for.
Co-starring Vince Vaughn, Hacksaw Ridge opens November 4, 2016. (The film’s first trailer can be viewed here.)
