The Deadpool Effect is in full force – and I think the gesture on that #OneLastTime teaser poster says it all. (See full image below)
After the explosive February box office success for the hard-R language/raunch/violence trifecta of Deadpool (which is part of the larger X-Men mythos), producer Simon Kinberg confirmed with Collider.com that Wolverine 3 will also make the leap to Rated R territory (as had been rumored).
Kinberg describes the final Hugh Jackman chapter as “a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you’ve ever seen in any of these movies,” adding:
- “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”
The as-yet-untitled Wolverine 3 is scheduled to open next spring on March 3, 2017. To read Adam Chitwood‘s full report, visit Collider.com.
