Marvel just swallowed the Red Pill.

Welcome to Phase 3 of the MCU: Doctor Strange. With the Avengers now in conflict, new, more spectacular superheroes are set to emerge, and Doctor Strange will be the first to get his own stand-alone origin story. This trailer – which debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live – gives us our first glimpse into Marvel’s turn to the mystical.

And I have to say: as someone who’s generally “meh” about Marvel movies, this one looks pretty intriguing. It’s almost as if director Scott Derrickson has taken a few pages out of Christopher Nolan‘s playbook.
