You have to read this to believe it, and even then maybe only The Force can explain it.
When Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy spoke to a packed theater before the world premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, she began by saying this:
“The Star Wars saga is about a series of seemingly chance encounters. They impact the destiny of everyone involved. So… here’s a story for you.”
With that dramatic setup, Kennedy went on to tell of the unrelated and improbable life events – spanning 50 years back to today – that connected her individually to the creative talents that would eventually come together to resurrect the Star Wars franchise (that she would oversee), including – no less – a family member who helped save George Lucas‘s life before he was even a filmmaker.
As tales of fate go, it’s downright mystical and transcends the bounds of coincidence – and it’s all true.
