The new – and first full – trailer for Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice premiered on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, and is now all over the internet. It provides the most detail of the premise yet and, I have to say, it’s less promising than the original teaser that set a more ominous tone.

Here, we see a rather campy Lex Luthor (played by Jesse Eisenberg) rather than the sinister sociopath we heard in the teaser’s voice over. Also, Henry Cavill‘s Clark Kent (and Superman, for that matter) remains as stiff as ever, coming off as an amazingly polished animatronic. Ben Affleck acquits himself the best as Batman/Bruce Wayne, thankfully, although that’s still relative to the murky and stilted universe that director Zack Snyder appears to have created.

If this trailer is supposed to get me hyped, it’s not doing its job. But hey, at least we have our first Wonder Woman sighting.
